The nationally recognized Institute combines the expertise of specialists Theodore Benderev, M.D., a Board-certified urologist, and Kym Kanaly, M.D., a Board-eligible gynecologist with fellowship training in female sexual medicine. Dr. Theodore Benderev completed his Urology training at Northwestern University in Chicago and is currently a Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of California at Irvine. He developed some of the first outpatient bladder neck and sling surgeries for women's incontinence now widely performed throughout the world. He continues to develop advanced techniques and technologies for the improved treatment of urinary incontinence. He also specializes in sphincter implants and slings for treating male incontinence (following prostatectomy). He is also the founder of www.vasectomy.com, the world's leading website for vasectomy and reversal information. He performs the no-scalpel vasectomy and was the first known urologist to introduce the no-needle anesthesia technique for patients in California.

Dr. Kym Kanaly completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital center, a Columbia University Hospital affiliate in New York. She was the first fellow to train under Drs. Jennifer and Laura Berman at the Female Sexual Medicine center at UCLA, where she completed a fellowship in Female Sexual Medicine and Female Urology. She sees patients for general gynecology issues, including annual exams, contraception, menstrual disorders, post-menopausal and hormonal issues, pelvic pain, and for sexual complaints, including low libido, difficulty with orgasm, decreased vaginal lubrication, and pain with sexual activity.

Dr. Patricia Wallace specializes in the evaluation and treatment of urinary and anal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction and chronic conditions of the bladder, such as Interstitial Cystitis, recurrent urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, and painful bladder syndrome. Dr. Wallace is a certified provider of InterStim sacral nerve neuromodulation for the treatment of overactive bladder and urge incontinence. Additionally, Dr. Wallace has special interests in minimally invasive surgery and the comprehensive treatment of menopause and sexual health, specifically after pelvic surgery and radiation for gynecologic and colorectal malignancies. She has worked closely with pelvic floor physical therapists in evaluating and treating women with pelvic floor dysfunction, dyspareunia, and vaginismus, as well as employed trigger point injection techniques for the treatment of pelvic floor muscle pain.
Dr. Wallace is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UC San Diego. Following residency, Dr. Wallace was on faculty at UC Irvine, as an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of the Women's Health Clinic at the UCI Family Health Center in Santa Ana. She completed a 3-year accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UCI Medical Center under Dr. Karen Noblett, a leader in the field of Urogynecology and sacral nerve neuromodulation.
